— What you get

Wasabi buckets as drives.

Buckets mount as drives.

Every Wasabi bucket appears in Finder, Explorer, or your Linux file manager. Open files in any app, save back to Wasabi directly. No upload step.

S3-compatible.

Wasabi ships an S3-compatible API. ExpanDrive uses the same connection setup as Amazon S3 — bucket-scoped mounts, sub-path scoping, ACL awareness.

Region-specific endpoints.

Wasabi runs multiple regions with different service URLs. Your access keys are scoped to the region — the Server field in ExpanDrive's connection setup must match.

— Why Wasabi

The cloud where egress is free.

Wasabi's pitch is concrete: no egress fees, no API request charges. For workflows where you read data out of cloud storage frequently — media production, backup verification, dataset analysis — the bill is dramatically different from S3 or GCS.

No egress charges.

Download all you want without per-GB egress fees. For high-read workloads, this is the entire purchase decision.

No API request charges.

S3 charges per LIST, PUT, GET, and DELETE call. Wasabi doesn't. Workflows that scan many objects repeatedly cost the same as workflows that touch them once.

Two access keys per user, hard limit.

Wasabi caps each user (root account or sub-user) at two access keys. Plan key rotation around that — generate the new key, update ExpanDrive, then revoke the old one.

— Cross-platform

Wasabi on every OS.

macOS

Apple File Provider extension. Buckets appear in Finder. Apple Silicon native.

Windows

User-selectable drive letter per bucket. Signed MSI installer.

Linux

Native .deb / .rpm packages with signed apt and yum repositories. Buckets mount at standard Linux mount points.

— Common questions

Common questions about Wasabi on ExpanDrive.

Regions, access keys, egress, and what happens when you hit the 2-keys-per-user limit.

Whatever region your bucket is in. Wasabi runs multiple regions (US East, US West, EU Central, AP Northeast, etc.) and your access keys are scoped to one region. The Server field in the connection setup is the region-specific endpoint URL — Wasabi publishes the list in their docs.

Need a File Orchestration Platform, not just a drive?
